13th Annual Brunswick Rockin' Stewbilee

BRUNSWICK, GA - The 13th annual Brunswick Rockin' Stewbilee is this Saturday, November 10th at Mary Ross Waterfront Park. The event features a Brunswick stew cooking competition, 5K road race, classic car show, Pooch Parade, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and more.



Advanced tickets are $3 for kids under 6 years, $6 for adults or $4 and $9 on the day of the event.

2nd Annual Hidden Gold Rush 5K Run

The second annual Hidden Gold Rush 5K will be held in Washington-Wilkes County this Saturday, November 3, registration starting at 7:00am and the race at 8:00am. Entrance in the run is $20.

Come join us for the 2nd Annual Historic Washington Hidden Gold Rush. Come find more about the lost gold!! The race will begin at the Wilkes County Courthouse and runs through beautiful historic Washington, GA. Course is relatively flat with a few rolling hills. Enjoy the beautiful historic antebellum homes along the route! The race benefits the Washington Optimist Club, which provides support to local youth including scholarships to graduating seniors.

Series affiliation

This event is part of the 2012 Black Bag Race Series Run and See Grand Prix Series.

Additional Information

Awards will be presented to Overall M/F, Masters M/F, and top three M/F in age groups beginning 10 and under through 70 and over. The entire course will be run on paved streets. Finish line timing and results provided by Classic Race Services with complete results posted online at www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.runningintheusa.com, and www.coolrunning.com. Packet pickup and race day registration will begin at 7:00 AM.

Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival

The annual Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival is this Saturday, November 3. The festival features a parade, 5K marathon, arts and crafts, and more.

There is a $5 parking fee per vehicle.

All proceeds from the Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival go toward the continuing restoration of the Susie Agnes Hotel which now serves as City Hall for the town of Bostwick. The 1st floor of the two story historic building has been completely renovated thanks to the festival, City of Bostwick, and significant contributions. Renovation of the second floor will soon follow.
